I use 925 sterling silver to craft every piece at Passionflower Jewellery. Sterling silver, like many precious metals, can oxidise and tarnish over time. But how you care for your jewellery will impact the lifespan of the piece.
Clean your jewellery regularly with a soft cloth to remove dirt and prevent tarnish. It is recommended not to use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials to clean your sterling silver, as this will likely damage the piece.
Remove jewellery before going in chlorinated spas and swimming pools or while cleaning with chemicals.
Where possible, give any makeup, lotions or perfumes time to dry on your skin before putting your jewellery on.
Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity. And lastly, wear your jewellery often! The oils from your skin can actually help to prevent tarnish.
